Inflammation Research Erlangen

Explore the world of inflammation research!

Dive into the Immunoverse with us and learn about our discoveries.

We investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

Our aim is to gain a better understanding of the causes and development of diseases in order to develop new innovative diagnostic and treatment methods that reduce patient suffering, improve their quality of life and open up long-term options for curing such diseases.

Our research teams achieve their results through strong interdisciplinary collaboration within the department, the Uniklinikum Erlangen and the FAU as well as in national and international collaborative projects.
In basic research, we decipher the function of cells, messenger substances and tissues involved in the inflammatory process. In order to gain new insights and develop innovative therapies, we analyse tissue samples to translate the results into clinical research.  With the overarching goal of developing targeted therapies that resolve inflammation.

Our primary goal is to help people and eliminate diseases in order to achieve a cure.
